A fantastic day was had at Galway Swimming Club’s Longest Day Swim 2023 yesterday as over 60 swimmers took on the River Corrib course. Conditions were dry but a strong wind meant that the swimmers had a tough challenge on the day; however all completed the course with some excellent times recorded – See attached for the full list of times and trophy winners.

Senior swimmer Ailbhe Mulhall won the Female 4k Skins event with Senior swimmer Eidhne Kennedy coming 2nd in the 4k suits and Coach Brian Desmond placing 3rd in the Male 4k skins event – excellent results and very well done to all!!

The event could not have happened without a lot of support from Committee and Club members & Junior Swimmers – huge thanks to all involved. Support in Sponsorship from Medtronic, Galway Water and Kirby Engineering & Construction also helped us put on a great event and, more importantly, raise funds for our Charity Partner for this year’s event – Claddagh Watch.
